Mr. Sam Pek is 39 years old; he lives with his wife and children a in Tuol Kralanh village, Khnar Sanday commune, Banteay Srey district, Siem Reap province.

Mr. Pek is a farmer and works on the land next to his house. His work provides the family with little income so they often have to struggle to support themselves. To earn extra income they also raise some animals at their house after finishing their farming work.

Mr. Pek and his family used to have their own water well, but after it was broken; he always had to travel to their neighbors’ wells nearby. This was especially hard during the dry season as the family do not have a rain water tank or big container to store large amounts of water. Their neighbors were not very happy to share water with them since there is not much water during the dry season and they also need it for their own. The family always try to find someone in the village to fix the water well, but unfortunately now the water well has serious problem that he cannot afford. When the CCDO came to the village, it assessed the needs of Mr. Pek and his family and found them suitable to become beneficiaries of the CCDO WASH program. On 26th September 2017, the CCDO repaired a water well for them, kindly sponsored by Helping Humanity Fund.

Mr. Pek’s family is delighted with the repaired water well and grateful to the CCDO, especially to Helping Humanity Fund for their generous donation. Now they have a well with fresh water and they no longer need to depend on other sources or worry about getting water for their daily needs. They will also share the water with their neighbors, who still face the same problem.
